Online lessons, 10 year online charity show and lots of singing projects all in lockdown!

Well we have been up to so much considering we have been in lockdown, this was not going to stop us singing!

Back in March we went completely online and we moved all of our students to online Skype lessons. Everyone has done so well and adapted to these lessons amazingly! We have been so pleased with all the feedback for our online lessons and what students have achieved.

We wanted to keep our students engaged and motivated to sing and perform so we decided to think of some projects to get our students involved with!

Firstly we asked our students to submit a home video of them singing 'Always look on the bright side of life'. The fun students had doing this was brilliant, we had people dressing up, their dogs were in their videos we were so pleased with what we were sent! They were then all put together and our video editor Jay made the most brilliant fun video! The students were so pleased with what they achieved. This can be seen on our youtube channel.

Then we had our biggest online project our '10 year anniversary online charity show’! We raised over £1,500 for the local charity Fare Share North East. We even had some radio play to help us advertise our show!

We had a overwhelming 32 videos submitted for our show from our students, then Jay our amazing video editor put our show together. We had all of our students watching the show online at home which was previewed on Sat 16th May!

We had so much fun keeping In touch on our social media and wats app group, where students messaged one another which made us feel we were all together!

We could not have had a better time, feeling we were all still performing while raising money for such a good cause. Our online how can be watched on out youtube channel.

Our next project has been asking students to submit videos to share on our social media of them making their own recordings and performance videos at home. These videos showed how music has helped them through lockdown! We have had so many submitted and students have started to learn more about recording and editing in their lockdown time!

We have proven as a studio that even though we can’t be with one another in person we can still be together and feel more of a vocal family than ever! I am so proud of all our students for their handwork and their commitment! We will all be together soon in person but for now we will keep singing!! Anna Leigh
